Info Cubic Obtains EU-US Privacy Shield Certification
Posted: November 18, 2016

Info Cubic LLC, a leading employment screening company, is pleased to announce our certification under the EU-US Privacy Shield.
“Our dedication to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal data is something we take incredibly seriously,” remarked Kelly Uebel, General Counsel for Info Cubic. “We are proud to voluntarily commit our organization to compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, and will continue to offer our outstanding international background screening services and capabilities to clients across the globe.”
The EU-US Privacy Shield was developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission after the Court of Justice of the European Union invalidated the US-EU Safe Harbor Framework in October 2015. Organizations that participate in the Privacy Shield are recognized as providing “adequate” data privacy protection which is required for data to be transferred from the European Union to the United States.
Although signing onto the Privacy Shield Principles – comprised of 7 privacy principles and 16 supplemental principles – is voluntary, an organization’s certification is enforceable under U.S. law by either the Department of Transportation or the Federal Trade Commission. Organizations must also re-certify compliance annually to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.
