While most employers utilize background screenings during the pre-hire process, many are less familiar with the employee rescreening process. Our rescreening service allows you to rerun whatever type of search (criminal records, license verifications, drug screens, etc.) you’d like at whatever pre-determined timeframe you would like (quarterly, annually, etc.). While employee rescreening is often used by companies industries that carry high liability risks, such as healthcare, education, childcare, transportation, etc., it is a beneficial tool for any company looking to mitigate risk.

Q: How often do you recommend doing employee rescreening?
A: We typically recommend an annual rescreen for any search types you may be concerned with (criminal records or driving records for example). However, the rescreening timeframe should ultimately be set based on your own specific needs, especially if they are mandated by any special insurance requirements, or contracts or special requests you may have with your clients or partners.

 

Q: Can you use the same release form I got for pre-hire screening for rescreening purpose as well?
A: Yes, companies will need to get consent from their employees prior to conducting employee rescreening. We suggest using an evergreen authorization form that allows you to screen an employee throughout the duration of their employment with your company. Our team would be happy to assist with any questions you have on consent forms but please consult your legal counsel for approval of any changes to your authorization forms.

 

Q: Do I need a rescreening program in place to get started? 
A: Info Cubic recommends creating a specific employee rescreening policy, which clearly outlines the process and defines the repercussions if infractions are found during the process.

 

Q: What is the difference between Employee Rescreening vs. Ongoing Criminal Monitoring?
A: Employee Rescreening is not a continuous monitoring program like the Ongoing Criminal Monitoring service. With Employee Rescreening you choose the timeframe (monthly, annually, etc.) of when you want us to automatically conduct whatever search type you choose. With Ongoing Criminal Monitoring the system will continuously monitor for any post-hire reportable criminal activity on a daily basis. In addition, Employee Rescreening has a wider variety of search types you can conduct such as drug screening, professional license verifications, OIG/GSA sanctions searches, etc. Whereas, the Ongoing Criminal Monitoring is only focused on monitoring criminal activity.
