    Frequently Asked Questions

    Who is Info Cubic?

Info Cubic is a consumer reporting agency (also known as background screening company) that collects and provides information in the form of a consumer report or a background screening report to employers across the country. Employers use the information we provide to aid in making their own hiring decisions. Info Cubic is ISO 9001:2015 certified and is accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners.

    Will my information be secure?

Info Cubic understands the importance of data security and has implemented measures – technical, contractual, administrative and physical – to protect and safeguard information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, use, disclosure, destruction or alteration. Info Cubic uses secure socket layer (SSL) encryption to protect information online. We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy for further information. For those candidates residing in the European Union, please review our EU-US Privacy Shield Privacy Policy. For those candidates residing in Switzerland, please review or Swiss-US Privacy Shield Privacy Policy.

What can I expect during the background check process?

Before Info Cubic works to complete your background check, we need particular information from you that will vary based on the checks your potential employer has requested. For example, if the employer would like us to verify your education, those details will be collected. Depending on your prospective employer’s process, we will either collect the information directly from you or will collect the information from the prospective employer.

When providing information to either Info Cubic or your prospective employer, we encourage you to be accurate and forthcoming. Doing so will help reduce errors and speed up the entire process.

In terms of what checks may be conducted, it will vary based on the employer, their hiring standards and criteria, etc. For example, employers often build their background screening policy and packages based in large part upon the type of industry, legislative requirements and specific roles for which they are hiring.

How long does a background check take?

The length of time it takes to complete a background check will depend on the specific checks being conducted. Common delays are often a result of court closures, weather-related issues or unresponsiveness by past employers or academic institutions. International checks also typically take longer than the average check in the United States. On average, Info Cubic is able to provide employers a completed consumer report within 2-4 days.

Does Info Cubic contribute to the employment decision based on the results of my background check?

Absolutely not. Info Cubic has no say in any employment decision, such as whether to hire, terminate or not promote an individual based on the background check results. We provide the information requested by our clients who then independently make the employment decision.

What should I do if I believe something on my background report is wrong?

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you have the right to dispute any information on your background report. Once Info Cubic is notified of the dispute, we will conduct a reinvestigation at no charge to you.

You have several different options to contact us to file a dispute:

    • Website: https://www.infocubic.com/reinvestigations-request/
    • Email: compliance@infocubic.com (please reference “Applicant Dispute” in the subject line).
    • Phone: 1-303-220-0169
    • Mail:
      Info Cubic LLC
      ATTN: Compliance Department
116 Inverness Drive East Suite 206
      Englewood, CO 80112

You are not required to complete any forms in order to begin the reinvestigation process. Further, you may provide any supporting documentation such as court documents, expungement papers, etc. although you are not required to do so.

Once we receive your dispute request, we will notify your prospective employer and will begin our reinvestigation.

Please note: Info Cubic can only conduct a reinvestigation if we have previously conducted a background check on you. If we have not, we would have no information to reinvestigate as we do not maintain a general nationwide database with consumer information.

How long will the reinvestigation process take?

Info Cubic has up to 30 days under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to resolve disputes. This timeframe may be extended to 45 days if additional information is received from you, although this does not typically happen. Usually we resolve disputes within 2-10 days.

Once the reinvestigation process is complete, we will either mail or email the final results to you (depending on your delivery preference). We will also inform the prospective employer of the outcome which includes providing an updated copy of the background report if changes were made. You also have the right to request that we provide the report to any person that has received a background report for employment purposes from us within the last two years.

What if I disagree with the reinvestigation results?

In the event you disagree with the reinvestigation results, please contact us via the methods outlined above to discuss further. You also always have the right to place a brief statement on your report explaining the nature of the dispute.

How can I get a copy of my background report?
