Psilocybin Mushrooms Making Headlines

Two cities in the U.S. have decriminalized the drug Psilocybin Mushrooms, and Info Cubic, LLC wants to raise awareness about this drug and why you should keep an eye out for possible upcoming trends around those who are using it.

What are Psilocybin Mushrooms?

This drug is also known as “Magic Mushrooms” and is a controlled substance with hallucinogenic effects. Psilocybin is one of the chemical compounds obtained from certain types of dried or fresh hallucinogenic mushrooms. They can be found in Mexico, Central America and the United States. 

Just like other drugs that are purchased on the streets that could be laced, this one is known to include lysergic acid diethylamide, known as LSD. Mushrooms are ingested orally and could be made into a tea mix or processed into other foods. Magic mushrooms have a long slender stem which appears white or a greyish color. The top has dark gills, and if dried, they will have a reddish, rust-brown color with areas of off-white.

There have been some individuals who stated that while taking this drug, it helped them with depression, drug addictions and post-traumatic stress disorders. Magic Mushrooms’ hallucinogens that interfere with the action of the brain chemical serotonin may alter the following:

• Mood
• Perception
• Sleep
• Loss of appetite
• Body Temperature
• Muscle Control
• Panic
• Lowered inhibition
• Paranoia

These are some of the more prominent affects people are experiencing when using this drug. This drug is not detected by the standard drugs of abuse screens. Possible Upcoming Trends

Two cities in the U.S. have decriminalized magic mushrooms: Denver, Colorado and Oakland, California. Other cities may follow suite just like the trend seen in legalizing recreational marijuana and medical marijuana.

Each city or state may have their own version of how they are decriminalizing the drug, but they are all similar. Magic mushrooms are still illegal under Federal and State Laws, and entheogenic substances are considered Schedule 1 drugs under the Federal Controlled Substances Act.
